Lively Cap

The Lively Cap is a modern color work hat featuring a fun geometric pattern. Inspired by the pattern on my shower curtain, I combined classic colors that have a nice contrast to make up the repeating pattern. The Lively Cap features a folded ribbed cuff, color work section and simple decreases at the crown. Knit up in Valley Yarns Amherst base, the Lively Cap is cozy, soft, and a modern style stranded color work hat that is sure to become a wardrobe staple!

MC: Oatmeal (white) Approximately 70 (80) yards / 64 (73) meters OR 1 skein
CC1: Balsam (blue) Approximately 90 (100) yards / 82 (91) meters OR 1 skein
CC2: Harvest Gold (yellow) Approximately 8 (10) yards / 7 (9) meters OR 1 skein

Gauge:
- 18 sts and 24 rows over 4”/ 10 cm in stockinette st worked in the round and blocked

Needles:
Size 6 (4 mm) 16” / 40.5 cm circular needles and a set of DPNs or size needed to obtain gauge
Suggest sizing up 1 or 2 size needles for color work section for even tension
