Namskaket & Cape Cod Musings
I just got back from a week of vacation! We stayed with family on Cape Cod, MA. Its been about 5 years since we have been there, so it was such a special time visiting with everyone and spending time on the beach!
We stayed at my in-laws house (the dogwood cottage) in Orleans, MA.
The past 4 years we have been in Michigan and its been hard to get out to the east coast. During this trip we were able to have all the cousins together and our son was able to meet them and two of his aunts for the first time!
We spent time on the beach, took the kids bowling for the first time, and got to visit with some of our east coast friends. It was such a great week and it felt great to take a step back from work and just enjoy the company of family and friends.
I also made sure to bring a few finished designs along to take full advantage of the beautiful views for photo shoots. I'm so excited to share a new pattern with you today; meet Namskaket! When we first planned on our vacation I knew I wanted to photograph this sweater on a pretty little beach on the cape cod bay near where my husband grew up. Skaket beach is in the town of Orleans, MA. Namskaket is derived from Algonquin and means "at the fishing place."
Namskaket is a fun sweater that features a bobble and lace panel in the front, a wide scoop neckline, easy drop shoulder, and 3/4 length sleeves. The front and back of the sweater are knit flat then seamed at the shoulders. Sleeves are then picked up and worked outward from the body flat. The sides and sleeves are seamed and a simple neckline is worked.
This design is knit up in Brooklyn Tweed Ranch-01 yarn, a springy Rambouillet wool with a hand dyed look. This is the perfect quick-knit sweater to showcase indie-dyed yarns!
You can find the pattern on Ravelry HERE
Yarn can be found at Brooklyn Tweed HERE
Peace & Love,
Annie
